Go REAL or Go SILK?!?

Are you debating the pros and cons of Real vs Silk Flowers. Lets consider some.

Real Flowers will die.
There is something breathtaking about real flowers.
Real Fragrance!!  You can smell the flowers in the air.
Do you have allergies?!?
Silk flowers can be prepared prior to the day of. Less stress.
Real flowers must be cut and prepared as close as possible to the ceremony time.
Real flowers will be wet. What color are the dresses??
Silk Flowers are MUCH cheaper.
Silk Flowers can be used again.

 Which is which?!?

You can have a beautiful wedding either way. Consider the durability of your flower choice.  Some flowers cannot survive warm weather.  Know your wedding party. Are we dealing with those who are accident prone?   Are your favorite flower in or out of season? That perfect color to match the shoes! All of these things will play a part in your decision to go REAL or go SIlK!?!

Healthy Relationships: Give Your Lover Your Phone..

Hello all!!

I hope you are having an awesome March. In the midst of March Madness, Mini-Snow Storms and Up and Down Temperatures I've been focusing on ensuring my relationships are Healthy Relationships.

Here are some tips on  maintaining healthy relationships:

  • Speak Up. In a healthy relationship, if something is bothering you, it’s best to talk about it instead of holding it in.
  • Respect Your Partner. Your partner's wishes and feelings have value. Let your significant other know you are making an effort to keep their ideas in mind. Mutual respect is essential in maintaining healthy relationships.
  • Compromise. Disagreements are a natural part of healthy relationships, but it’s important that you find a way to compromise if you disagree on something. Try to solve conflicts in a fair and rational way.
  • Be Supportive. Offer reassurance and encouragement to your partner. Also, let your partner know when you need their support. Healthy relationships are about building each other up, not putting each other down.
  • Respect Each Other’s Privacy. Just because you’re in a relationship, does not mean you have to share everything and constantly be together. Healthy relationships require space.
I saw this picture  online....what do you think about it?

Healthy behavior or not??

Do Eggs Spoil....

So I’m somewhat of a road warrior and my fridge is often bare. I buy the staples and when I return I’m not quite sure if it’s good or not!!  My niece and I had an impromptu sleepover and just had to make brownies…..

I had all the ingredients but wasn't quite sure if the eggs were good….we cracked them open and all looked well. So off they went into the brownie mix. So hence the research a few days later do eggs go bad….

Question: How long can you keep eggs in the fridge?
Expert answer: We tell consumers to look to the egg carton dates to judge freshness. A couple of bits of info regarding the sell-by date: The USDA says that the date can be no further ahead than 30 days after the packing date. Your store can choose any day within that 30 days to date the eggs.

As the membrane releases from the shell, the whites spread out, so you want to use fresh eggs for poaching and other recipes where shape is important, and save the older eggs for scrambled eggs and recipes that includes eggs.

Yeah whatever poaching is…..If you know how to poach an egg than hopefully you use them more frequently than I.

Question: How can you tell when eggs have gone bad?
Expert answer: Eggs are one of the few animal foods that you can keep in your fridge and still be optimum quality. Eggs are unlikely to go bad in a refrigerator setting, but would dry up over time. Eggs don't automatically go bad or spoil after date.
If the eggs do not already have salmonella, it will not grow in an egg as it sits in your fridge. If it does contain salmonella, the number of bacteria will be quite small because it does not grow in cold environments, like a refrigerator, and with proper handling, cooking, and other food safety measures, the bacteria will be killed
